A Beautiful Early February Day

SUMMARY: Can you believe it's the middle of winter?

The Merle Girls and I slept in and went for our own hike slightly later in the morning at Santa Teresa County Park. All on-leash, but only a 20-minute drive to the trailhead I'm preferring lately.

We made it to the top of Coyote Peak once again.

Lots of good photos with descriptions are here on my photo site; come experience our 3-hour, 6.5-mile (10.5 km), 800+-foot cumulative elevation gain hike. Beautiful views, colorful lichens, turkey vultures, wildflowers, and more! (Click the Slideshow link in the upper right of that page for a full-screen slideshow that still shows hte captions; you can slow it down or speed it up in the upper left.)

(Oh, and here are some previous photos of us in the same traditional spot.)

  1. What a great hike. Felt like I was right there! (Minus the wind though!)...the slide show idea was great!
