SUMMARY: No more fooling around; quit now while the quitting's good.
With all the fun I've had recently doing NONagility things, I have come to realize that I don't need or want agility in my life at all. So, that's it, I'm done. I've tossed all my entries for the April/May trials instead of sending them in. I also realize that it's time to get back to my agenda of traveling extensively.
Between those two decisions, I've also realized that it's not fair to the dogs, who've trained for agility and love it, to leave them home, under-utilized, under-exercised, and under-loved. So I've started the process of handing them over to the folks I had already listed as being their new owners in case of my untimely passing. These are good folks, people the dogs like, and they are delighted to have the chance to work with my Merle Girls. Sure, I'll miss them, but I hope I'll be too busy to notice much.
I've sent out a note to the club list offering to sell all my equipment--jeez, I've accrued a lot of it!--and based on the quick response when other people have sold things, I expect it to all be spoken for by the end of the day today.
This is all so amazingly freeing.
I can now leave my desk for the morning with a clear conscience and go enjoy the rest of this
April First to the fullest.
