SUMMARY: We've had no class for two weeks due to rain. And--
--tonight it's not raining! But it's overcast and gray and the wind wails around the house with a message from the north. By 8:00 this evening, the thermometer will read 44F (6.7C), but with wind chill and humidity, Accuweather's estimate on the cold feel will be 39 (3.9C). That's almost bearable if there's no wind, but, dang, that wind!
And I'm running on 3 hours of sleep from last night. We won't mention any names, right, BOOST?!?!
Could be an interesting evening. I am, at the moment, after a nice warm bowl of chicken noodle soup, pondering just crawling into bed and calling it a night. But the canids are restless, prowling around the house and yard, gleeful with temperatures that allow them to run and run and never overheat!
Still, that down comforter and electric mattress pad are calling my name. How cavemen survived without electric mattress pads, I'll never know.
I have 45 minutes to decide. Ah, me.
Nope, that's it, not going. Sitting here, in 3 layers of clothing, blanket wrapped around me, furnace on, space heater on, fingers freezing, just can't bear the thought of going up there. Has to be the lack of sleep. I did get a walk in today with the beasties, and worked hard getting ready for, and having, a meeting with a new client, so it's not like I've been sitting here petrifying all day. Gotta be the lack of sleep. I'll stall a little while more and then hit the [warm] sack.
ReplyDeleteNighty-night...sleep well!
ReplyDeleteOh well. Sounds like perfect weather to me for agility practice if you're able to keep moving but maybe not so much for sitting around in a class waiting for your turn. Hope you had a good sleep.
ReplyDeleteIt was cold but better when the winds died down.
ReplyDeleteI was REALLY tired. I claim that my bedtime is 10:00ish but usually don't make it until 11ish. Tuesday night I hit the bed around 8:30 and fell asleep trying to do a little reading in bed. Slept soundly all night. So I think it was good that I didn't try going up there.
ReplyDeleteWe had issues a couple of years back where she had to go out to go potty at night over and over. Never did establish to my complete satisfaction whether it was behavioral or infection; we treated for both with increasing determination and the problem slacked off and went away. But she still sometimes just decides that she doesn't need to go outside before bedtime and then realizes in the middle of the night that she was mistaken. But of course she's SO restless in the meantime. And then when she finally insists on going out, I sit there for 10 minutes while she does whatever she does (potty shouldn't take 10 minutes, but it's cold & dark & I don't feel like getting a flashlight and following her) and by then I'm wide awake. Sometimes I get back to sleep, sometimes not. Fortunately it's rare any more. (Tika NEVER needs to go out in the middle of the night!)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
