Nearly Empty Huge Mall Wrapped In COVID Shelter In Place Restrictions

SUMMARY: Wordless Wednesday -- unedited from my phone

P.S. Could've at least straightened the photos. But I didn't. They have that slightly unbalanced feel that life in general has at the moment.

  1. A mall! I haven't been to a mall since last January, maybe a year ago December!

  2. PS: Thinking about all the money I've saved!

    1. The mall was essentially closed for a few months at the beginning of the shutdown. Now, it's open even though our area is in the top tier of shelter-in-place here in CA. I know it's hard for me to agree that everything except groceries and pharmacies aren't essential. If I want a specific piece of clothing, I want to see it in person. If I want to buy my annual pair of slippers, and I can't find it online, I know that I can find it at Macy's. And for this, I knew what I wanted in a calendar and was having trouble finding it online and usually there's a kiosk here in this wing of the mall every year with calendars, but this year there have been no kiosks at all except standard ones like watch/phone repair. But I came to see, didn't find one, and so the Hallmark store was a requirement! Found something good enough there. And then I went home, exiting as quickly as I could (all of this is between where I entered and where the store is). It felt odd to linger long enough to take photos, even though there were so very few people. Because of COVID. I decided that first thing in the morning, with very few people there yet, that I'd be ok. Finghers crossed. It was the shop with half a dozen other people trying to look at hte same things that I looked at, and some of them in line, waiting, breathing, exhaling-- even with masks, nowadays it raises my stress level.
BUT-- think of all the money I save by buying things on sale!!! LOL!

  3. They could be dance steps on the floor! So, empty but for Sephora. Figures! It's torture for me to go there with my daughter! (in the past) I love you post about not getting a dog for your dog. My border collie x is SO happy being an only dog. His quality of life is so much better without stressing over protecting his toys. He can have fun outside without constantly watching his ball.

    1. Some dogs are little hoarders, aren't they. Like tiny furry dragons! (Which I'm also fond of.) My border collie (Boost) actually loved having her mentor [Tika, not a BC] around to play with and was never jealous with her toys. And Tika seemed to love having her there, too--should've seen her gently coaxing the worried 3-month-old to gradually relax and trust her and play! My 2nd 2 dogs would each have preferred to be the only dog in the house; didn't get along at all ever.
Oh, dance steps on the floor! I like it! I wonder how one would execute the steps in the 6th photo, where apparently you have to go 6' in four directions at the same time?!

    1. I used to go to this one on average once a week to walk through to the movie theaters. And fairly frequently in dark or cold or rainy times just to walk inside. Now, this is maybe only the 2nd time since March. So weird.
