Onward with the Knee

SUMMARY: No more agility for a while.

The knee wasn't too happy with me on Sunday; more painful and MUCH more swollen than it had been, and not much better on Monday, but this evening it seems to be calming some. Some of it was lack of opportunity for icing & too busy to remember anti-inflammatories; some of it might have been forgetting myself and dropping to my knees while looking for Tika's collar, which instantaneously hurt like ... well... a whole lot.

I've cancelled out of Power Paws winter camp, the Greg Derrett seminar, and the Thanksgiving weekend WAG CPE trial, which is a real pity, because I could probably have nice runs with all 3 dogs there and have a go at winning the annual turkey trot for the 3rd year in a row. Deep sigh and pout.

I'll still keep going to classes, I guess, for now; keeps the dogs doing *something* and it doesn't seem to aggravate my knee any more than anything else I do.

Appointment with the orthopedist on Friday afternoon. I don't know where the appointment with the sports doc that she was supposed to arrange for me is gone. I have left a voice message and walked in and left a written message and talked to the nurse, and I've had no response whatsoever. I hope I don't get in there on Friday and have her say, oh, I wonder why you don't have an appointment, it's going to be another 4-6 weeks to get one--since that's what she told me the first time.

Tonight, I just really need to get more sleep; last night's good sleep and a long nap this afternoon were still not enough to make up for the last week of insufficient sleep and Sunday night's mostly sleepless drive home.
